WHAT SHE'S FIGTHING FOR
I am running to change the culture of leadership in Indianapolis – to make government responsive, compassionate, and accountable. Real progress happens when people feel heard, safe, and included.
I Will:
-
Build public safety officers from within the community.
-
Ensure economic opportunity reaches those who need it most, creating jobs and pathways for very neighborhood.
-
Lead with compassion and calm reform, knowing that lasting change takes courage and patience.
-
Champion innovative, forward-thinking policies such as federal cannabis legalization to modernize justice and our economy.

Together, we can create a city where leadership reflects our values and our communities thrive.
ABOUT DENISE
On January 1st, 2023, Denise Paul Hatch has begun her first term as Constable of Marion County and Center Township. It is a moment of firsts. She is the first Black woman, Buddhist, and Trinidadian to take the position.
With a Bachelor of Science degree from New Hampshire College, Constable Hatch has decades of political and business experience, owned her own construction company, worked in the US Senate in DC, and worked on Obama's and Bernie's presidential campaigns. As a landlord and property owner, she is also very experienced and knowledgeable with landlord tenant law and disputes, a critical part of the Constable's duties.

WHAT I'M FIGHTING FOR
What I’m Fighting For
I’m running for Congress because service is not a slogan — it’s a responsibility.
I am fighting for:
Dignity.
No one should be ignored, silenced, or treated as disposable — whether they are a bus rider, a senior on fixed income, a working parent, or someone rebuilding their life.
Accountability.
Power should answer to the people. Government should work for families — not insiders, not corporations, not political convenience.
Working Families.
Affordable health care. Safe neighborhoods. Economic opportunity that reaches every zip code in Indianapolis — not just the well-connected.
Justice That Is Fair.
A system that protects the vulnerable, respects constitutional rights, and ensures no one is crushed by bureaucracy or abuse of power.
Community Safety With Compassion.
Public safety that values prevention, fairness, and real solutions — not headlines.
Representation That Listens.
I will never ask your party affiliation before asking:
“How can I help?”
Paving the Way for
Decriminalized Marijuana
Denise Paul Hatch ran for Mayor of Indianapolis in 2020 with an important part of her platform advocating for the decriminalization of marijuana. Many legal experts told her it could not be done but voters were excited at the possibility of the change. After the 2020 election, the new Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Myears decriminalized possession of Marijuana under an ounce. As Center Township Constable, and a member of law enforcement, Denise will continue to advocate for the Legalization of Marijuana.
